| Pyburn & Odom MCA, L.L.C. is a group of consulting engineering firms, which offers a complete range of engineering and technical services. It is structured around Pyburn & Odom, Inc., which was founded in 1948, and has earned a national reputation for excellence in all aspects of engineering, with particular emphasis on civil, marine, pipeline, environmental, and public works projects. Pyburn & Odom, Inc. celebrates 54 years of engineering excellence, since its founding as a joint venture by the late Leo M. Odom and Dewitt L.
Pyburn. At the time of the firm’s formation, Mr. Odom was chief engineer and Mr. Pyburn was the head of the Louisiana Department of Public Works. These two early pioneers in Lower Mississippi River engineering, formed the nucleus of today's forward-looking corporation. Pyburn & Odom, Inc. was incorporated in

Pyburn & Odom, Inc. has maintained an
international reputation over the years for providing
engineering services in many areas including: engineering
design, environmental, river studies, waterfront structure
design, pipeline design, highways, roads, bridges,
wastewater engineering, wetlands, regulatory permitting,
automated hydrographic and topographic surveying, and port
and harbor engineering.
Originally known widely as pipeline water crossing experts, Pyburn & Odom, Inc. was an early leader in the nation in giving the environment more attention. This diversification was a logical extension of its proven expertise and today the firm is well known for its environmental capabilities. |
In 1993, Pyburn & Odom, Inc. acquired the assets and operations of Barnard & Thomas Engineering, Inc., a Baton Rouge based firm founded in 1968. This acquisition allowed the firm to expand its capabilities more fully with ports, harbors, public works projects, and aviation services.
The combined professional staff of the Pyburn & Odom MCA, L.L.C. group is composed of an outstanding cadre of engineers, technicians, and support personnel using in-house computer systems with multiple CADD capabilities (see enclosed Organizational Chart). These capabilities include Autocad, DCA, Intergraph, and Arc Info G.I.S. Software. Each project is performed under the direction of a member of the group’s senior staff and periodical critical reviews of projects are made at regular staff briefings, with quality assurance being an important component of each phase of the project.
In April of 1998, Pyburn & Odom, Inc. was purchased by new owners with the acquisition of 80% of the companies stock. With that transfer of ownership, the firm has taken on a new goal, that being an entrepreneurial company, with new offices located in New Orleans and Lafayette, Louisiana, and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Pyburn & Odom, Inc. was acquired by Pyburn & Odom MCA, L.L.C., a newly formed investment company, in 2001.
Pyburn & Odom MCA, L. L. C. acquired an ownership interest in the engineering firm of Marrero Couvillon and Associates, LLC (MCA) in 2001. The acquisition of interest in this 32 year old firm will bring to the Pyburn & Odom MCA, LLC group fully integrated capabilities, with over 100 people and with more than 16registered engineers and three registered architects.
Past experience with major governmental agencies at all levels will enabled Pyburn & Odom MCA, L.L.C. to establish excellent working relationships to expedite the preparation and approval of permit applications. With over 5,000 successfully completed projects, the Pyburn & Odom MCA, L.L.C. group is looking forward to being a major contributor to the engineering community, in new and innovative arenas. |
